Hite Beer of South Korea

The Hite Brewing Company Limited is a South Korean brewery that is stationed in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.  The company's products include beer, rice wine, and mineral water.  Hite Brewing Company started in 1933 and was originally named Chosun Breweries then later on switched names over.  Hite beer is categorized as a European Pale Lager and has a 5% ABV.  Hite beer is found in 12oz/22oz bottles and also 12oz/16oz cans.  As you crack the bottle you can smell the nice malty cleanness of Hite with not much going on, but there shouldn't be with this style of the beer.  The pour is a clear golden body with a 2 finger head that lasts a long time leaving suds behind left and right.  The taste is very smooth, crisp, and clean with light bitterness as you finish up Hite.  Hite Beer is the number one sold beer and South Korea and is found all over the bars and clubs there.  Hite beer is basically like our Budweiser lager over here in the States.  So if ever in Korea and you have no idea what beer to buy, grab yourself a 12 of Hite Beer and start fitting in!
